** FTF Community Blog Event **

I'm inspired to write this blog, left handedly, last minute because I was, in fact... inspired.

Kristy Elena at Full-Time Fabulous has put together this blog event asking the FTFCommunity to choose a spring/summer trend and how it inspires us.

I returned to work today after being out since before Memorial Day weekend for a broken bone.
There wasn't much in my favor today other than exhaustion and pain as I went back to working once again with the bone that's still broken and I use to make a living with.

Then, there it was...

a brown box

This day has turned around as soon as I opened the package (with the help of someone, of course)

Inside the box is my NEW Oakley Sunglasses.

Not only are they new to me, they are one of the newest Oakley Uniquely Women's styles.

And, boy am I now beyong inspired and ready for Summer 2011 after I put these AMAZING glasses on for the first time!

Being in a restricting cast, under the knife less than a week ago, and unable to drive...you could say that I was a little bit upset and disgruntled that this is how I was gonna spend my summer.

Once I opened these glasses and put them on I knew my summer wouldn't be so bad after all...

I get this cast off tomorrow morning. A velcro wrist splint will be much easier to handle this summer, especially when I'm by the pool (working on the tan lines)

I drove my car tonight for the first time in over a week, and ya know what? It was easy. I was so scared that changing gears would hurt my wrist. But, I tried it and it was a piece of cake.
And now...
I've got the hottest new women's sunglasses available this summer!

The Oakley Caveat in Brunette/Bronze Polz is the always trendy Aviator style with a brown polarized lens that will not only eliminate glare when I'm outside, but is a perfect hue of brown that will look great next to my sun-kissed face.
With the Aviator normally being such a masculine style, Oakley really nailed the shape of these glasses to fit the soft features of a woman's face but not letting you forget it's an Oakley.
They have these super cool new nosepads (that, of course is only available on the women's line) that don't get stuck in your hair.

How EPIC is that?

I have my hair in a ponytail probably 75% of the time during summer, and when I go inside I pop the glasses on the top of my head so they are ready when I get back outisde.

Now, I can simply take them off my head and put them on my face without pulling hair out of my ponytail and standing outside my car trying to unstick my hair from my glasses...

These Oakley people are genius, I tell ya!

Aren't you inspired now?

Gee... I'm so inspired; I just typed way more than I thought I'd have the patience to with my dominant right hand bandaged up.

What summer trends inspire you?

Is it a pair of new sunglasses, a top, some new kicks?

Summer is here and I'm ready to take it on in my new Caveat sunglasses.

<--- this will be the last time you see these bandages!

A little fun after the blog...

Did you know?
me either...
now WE know!

radius distal fracture

If you've known me for some time, then you know I'm a workout fanatic.

I've been part of a women's fitness group here in Richmond that does small group training for over a year now. I've had a chance to meet some great ladies and have made friendship's that I wouldn't normally have made at a regular gym.
Anywho, I work out at 6am Monday, Weds and Friday every week. I'm not a morning person at all either, but when I workout, I go 110%.
I do this to not only lead the way for the newer members, but I push myself cause I have seen substantial results, and want to keep them coming!

Last Friday, May 27th, I tripped myself up during our workout, went to catch myself and broke my wrist.
I landed so hard with the momentum that I had that I crushed the bone in my wrist and when I looked down after the "crack" sound, my wrist was noticeably out of place.

It was gross. And yes, I popped my wrist back in to place (my adrenaline was  pumping, so it didnt hurt)

Here I am in the ER with pain meds flowing
and a disfigured wrist under the ice pack.

I went to the ER and long story short, I had a plate put in my wrist on Wednesday and have been out of work for 7 days total now.
It's far from fun learning to be a lefty, but it could always be worse I guess.

This is the plate they put in my wrist.
It is the right wrist however, this is the left pictured.

I hope to get back to semi-normal once my bandages come off on Wednesday and I receive my Velcro wrist splint that will help me get used to my new metal hardware I acquired.

The pitbull enjoys my company at the house since I haven't been to work.

I can't wait to get back to normal. I've waited all year to put on a bikini and show off what I've been doing all winter before the sun had even risen on most people's days!
Here's to a speedy recovery, good thing I drink milk like it's going out of style. I'll be back to 110% in no time!
