I haven't blogged in months, or really like this, in years. I'm feeling it though. I miss home.
I moved to Houston the beginning of January, 2012. My life took a spin...for the better. I dont regret uprooting my life and leaving my friends behind. Although I miss them trememndously, I had to do it. I can say I'm truly happy now. This is what I wanted for a LONG time. It doesn't discount the fact that I'm homesick every once in a while.
Let's start with my last city... Richmond, VA. Better known as #RVa.
Speaking of, wow what a connected city on Twitter. I've never found quite the online networking that I found with that simple little hastag. There were so many "twitter-famous" people in RVa. You didn't know them, but you felt like you knew them when their tweets were re-tweeted on your timeline. It was fun to meet those people in person though because no matter how much you thought you knew them, you didn't, at all.

Keeping with the Twitter theme, let me share what else I miss about RVA... (and the
@WhitSTYLES- it all started when she "followed" me on Twitter. The rest is history. I'm a new person and now fitness is a top priority in my life. Strong is the new Skinny at Styles Group Fitness. I surely accomplished that in my 2 years with SGF. I have not found anything like it here in Houston, and believe me that was the first thing I researched when I got here.

@DJGhozt- You haven't been to a real party until you've followed him around to his weekly parties in RVa. To name a few, NY Deli and Off the Hookah. Most of you don't realize what a good DJ can do for a party and the difference of a good time versus a great time and how much the seamless music has to do with it. My first Saturday back in RVa, I'll be at Off the Hookah, hands down and with @WhitSTYLES.

Euphoric Productions- Wow what a team and what a bunch of great people who really tried to make the EDM scene come alive in Richmond. For all the flak they caught for stupid crap, they are the best promotoers and consistent party throwers in Richmond. No one will ever forget those amazing shows at Element and all the big names us little people got to meet and make friends with. Thanks to DJ Shugadadde for all he did and everyone I was able to meet and see perform. (Monk, Adam F, Charles Feelgood, Reid Speed, Bella, AK 1200,Hiajck, Uberzone, and Leko to name a few) Not to forget the friends for life I made at those parties, Adam, Fred, Kiki and Stacy.

Godfreys- Honey you haven't drank, danced and been entertained until you've been to Godfrey's. The drinks are strong and there was so much fun to be had there! Adam and I had some great nights there that will never be forgotten.
See... pure shenanigans. Talking on our Puma shoe phones. |
I made more friends in my 5 years in Richmond than I did my 23 years in my hometown... There were so many things to do and fun to have. From the west end to the southside, I did nearly everything once. These are just a few of the things I miss more than anything and wish I could have here I Houston. The rest I can just show you in pictures...
I've only been here 3 months and Im sure fun times will hapen in Houston just as they did in RVa. Richmond was only home for 5 years, but I miss my other homes too. I'll blog about them as the time comes.
Until then,
xo
